Welcome to the St. John Parish Community.


I’m glad you have visited our Church and attended Sunday Mass. As the Catholic Church of Starlight, Indiana we are striving to be a parish that is centered in Jesus Christ.

We gather foremost on Saturday or Sunday, the Lord’s Day; all of our activities build upon this firm foundation. Please make every effort as a family to participate fully in the Mass each weekend. The Mass can be the highlight of the week for those who are willing to enter into the Bible readings, the prayers and the mysteries of Christ’s life, death and resurrection.

Catholic worship at Mass is structured to instruct us in the faith even as we are praying. The Sunday Mass is how we keep holy the Lord’s Day. The Sunday Mass provides a small, weekly Bible study. The Sunday Mass provides some of our weekly prayer. The Sunday Mass provides the community that Christians need. The Sunday Eucharist is the “source and the summit” of our Catholic life. Everything we do is grounded in it, and it is the highest expression of our devotion to the covenant God has established with us in Christ Jesus.

I hope you have spent some time with our parish community before making the commitment of joining us. If you now desire to become a member of our community, please complete the registration form.

The registration form asks for your biographical and family information including when and
where you and your family members received their early sacraments. If someone in your family is not yet Catholic but would like to learn more about the Catholic Church, please let me know.

In addition to the Registration Form there is a link to instructions for on-line giving. We encourage members to make their weekly or monthly contribution to the church through online giving. This is convenient especially when you take advantage of other parish’s Mass times or are away from your new home parish.

Again, welcome to St. John’s. Bring the completed form to me after Mass when you return. We will have some additional items to give you at that time.
